Piotrkowska street – from Liberty Square to Reymont Square
This is the longest trade street in Europe (4-km of length), one of the most popular promenade (north, 2-km side of Piotrkowska street ), also is the center of night life in Lodz. By the Lodz citizens the street is named “Pietryna”. When we stroll on Piotrowska street we can admire XIX century tenement houses, memorials of famous Lodz citizens (monumental of founders Manufacture Lodz, Rubinstein grand piano, Julian Tuwim Bench, Leon Schiller monumental, Wladyslaw Reymont Chest), walk by star alley (stars of polish directors, actors, cameraman’s, stage designer’s, composer’s situated from the both sides of Piotrkowska street – from 6 Sierpnia Street to Struga Alley), you can see the biggest graffiti in Poland or just relax in one from 100 pubs and restaurants. It’s worth to look on some of the restore backyard’s. There is possibility to drive by the street with the help of rickshaw or historic tram.
On Piotrkowska street very often take place air events, for example a paddle race or beach volleyball tournament. One time there was an ice pyramid (50 ton), and trumpeter had a concert on the top of the pyramid!
